ISO 14001:2004 has been revised and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management systems – Requirements with guidance for use was published on 15 September 2015. The revised standard is based on a new “high level structure” which is to be adopted by all new and revised ISO standards, and is a significant change from ISO 14001:2014.
This course is an IEMA Certified Making the Transition to ISO 14001:2015 Course (Australia) certified by the UK-based Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and participants will receive an IEMA Certificate.
Organisations certified to ISO 14001:2004 have until 31 August 2018 or their next recertification (whichever is the sooner) to transition to ISO 14001:2015. After 1 September 2018 no ISO 14001:2004 certificates will be recognised or issued.
This course is now being offered as an in-house course only as this has been found to provide the most beneficial outcome for our clients. The practical exercises are an opportunity for attendees to discuss how the implications of the changes to the standard will affect their EMS
The revision to ISO 14001 provides an opportunity for organisations to enhance the way they improve environmental and sustainability performance and drive competitiveness, productivity, resilience and growth. This course is intended to help organisations achieve the benefits of the transition to the revised standard by enhancing the capability of those responsible for implementing and improving their Environmental Management System (EMS).
This one‐day (7‐hours) course is aimed at environment and sustainability professionals responsible for implementing and maintaining environmental management systems, and internal and external auditors conducting EMS audits. It will provide participants with an understanding of the structure and flow of ISO 14001:2015 and the intent and implications of its new requirements, so that they can effectively plan for their organisations to realise the full benefits of the transition to ISO 14001:2015.
An important element of this course is to ensure that learners appreciate the holistic nature of some of the changes, and the implications for process integration, environmental and business strategy and management of risks and opportunities. The Making the Transition to ISO14001:2015 training is presented as an IEMA Certified course and that you will receive an IEMA certificate of achievement. IEMA is the Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment, based in the UK, with over 15,000 members in 95 countries. The IEMA course has been developed in consultation with Martin Baxter, IEMA’s Chief Policy Advisor, who led the UK delegation to the international working group in the production of ISO 14001:2015. Graham A Brown & Associates is a Certified IEMA Training Centre.
