Rodney Ingersoll

Rodney is a senior consultant at Graham A Brown & Associates. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Resource Management (Honours) and has over ten years’ experience in environmental management, climate change science, sustainability,  OH&S, environmental health, project management, stakeholder liaison and training.

A RABQSA Lead Environmental Auditor, Rodney has conducted many internal and external environmental audits – based on ISO 14001 guidelines – for corporate, mining and government entities. For other clients, Rodney has developed, implemented and maintained environmental management systems (EMS). He has also written policies and procedures for integrated management.

Rodney has held various local government positions in fields including environmental education, waste management, energy, greenhouse gas emissions and sustainability. Rodney’s government work saw a number of councils reduce their annual energy and water usage bills by more than $10 million, some receiving international recognition for their improved efficiency. While working in government Rodney also coordinated a ‘Water Task Force’, facilitating urban sensitive design, creek restoration projects and water re-use plans for twelve different communities.

Rodney has worked extensively in community economic development projects in Australia and Papua New Guinea. He possesses a thorough understanding of ecological, cultural and social trends in international development – accumulated during his years spent living and working in PNG. There, Rodney delivered over 245 community and need-based skill development courses for indigenous staff. These short courses included topics such as village water supply, land management, fish farming, carpentry, village leadership, sanitation and literacy.

Rodney has presented papers at conferences, delivered topics to students at university level and published more than 50 newspaper and magazine articles on sustainability.
