Graham Brown

M.Sc, FAus IMM, Principal Environmental Auditor (UK, USA and Australia), Greenhouse and Energy Auditor – Technical (Australia)

Graham established Graham A Brown & Associates in 1986. He holds a Master of Science in Geology from Melbourne University and has over forty years’ commercial and industrial experience, including thirty as an environmental consultant. During this time he has completed over 500 environmental assignments.

Graham has provided technical expertise, management and leadership to government and industry in a range of natural, rural and urban environments. His many professional credits include undertaking environmental reviews and waste management studies in industries such as food, pharmaceutical, vehicle manufacturing, power, mining and petroleum. One major project saw him responsible for the environmental review and compliance assurance programs of a multinational waste management company, which covered its landfills, liquid waste depots and incinerators throughout Australia and New Zealand. Overall, Graham has carried out over 80 environmental impact assessments and more than 200 environmental audits in almost every industry sector.

Graham also authored The Environment Series published by Thomson Reuters. This regularly updated series consists of The Environmental Audit Guidebook, Environmental Awareness and Obligations, The Environmental Management Systems Guidebook, Waste Management and Minimisation Guidebook (co-authored by Aaron Westwood) and the Environmental Audit Protocol (CD-ROM).

Graham has lectured at several Australian universities and has trained clients on topics such as environmental awareness, environmental auditing, environmental management systems, pollution control, risk management and waste management. His five-day Environmental Audit Workshop is the only comprehensive environmental auditor training program accredited by RABQSA International in Australia. He has delivered Best Practice Environmental Management training in the oil and gas industry as well as other programs in Dubai, Oman, Bahrain and Pakistan.
